Here we are, at 12 December 2017. It's been two years since my dad died in a wreck, and wow it feels like hardly any time has passed, while still somehow feeling like an eternity has passed. After my dad's death two years ago, I felt so much bitterness. A year later, I was still struggling with this; I felt so much anger towards our situation. I remember sitting down and writing this journal the one time I actually managed to properly communicate my feelings. Since I wrote that a year ago, things have changed. I have faced that pain and that fear of losing my dad, and have recognized the good that is present. We lost our home, but this summer

I love to read Thrillers, Classic books (Jane Austen, Bronte Sisters etc), also poetry written from the heart that pushes my emotional buttons.

I'm kind of lazy, but have started exercising which is surprisingly addictive.

I love drawing but don't have much confidence in my skill. Love to write poetry and just throw my heart onto the page.

Best Lesson learnt so far in life: Be yourself, always tell the truth and don't bother caring what the haters think!

To anyone who may be wondering

Hi everyone.  Just in case anybody is wondering if I'm still alive, this is my story: I obviously haven't been on for a few months now.  The truth is that since my dad passed away in June, I have been struggling to get my life back on track.  I haven't been inspired either.  I will be fine, I just need time.  Also I have to focus on my work right now, since it suffered during the time of my dad's being in hospital and after he died.  I am way behind on a lot of urgent work projects. Anyway, the bottom line is that I am giving myself a break, but I do intend to return.  I'll probably be back on DA towards the end of the year when I go on vac

I just wanted to say thank you to all my kind friends here on DA who sent messages and showed their care, when my Dad died this month.  I will be offline probably for about 2 weeks from today, since I have to travel and attend both of his funerals.  I am taking my Dad's ashes back to his hometown for the first one.  Then bringing it back home to where I live for a second service where a lot of our other family lives. I know it will be difficult, but I also know that with God's help, and the kindness that others have shown and continue to show, I will manage somehow. All I can say is make the most of every day that you have with your family.
